about

"Why isn't everyone talking about The Divided Circle? They should be. A near perfect blend of indie romanticism and lush electronica, their debut album is full of imaginative guitar work, big room synths and the compelling interplay of Jon Rees and Krystian Taylor's contrasting voices. 2010's 'Nowhere' is still ravishing, and it's in good company alongside the sky-scraping ballad 'Words', and thrilling '92', whose trance-like arpeggios and endorphin-rush drums race off into the distance like fading memories of youth. The duo's best trick, however, is reserved for 'The Warmth', when one of the album's most straightforwardly poppy tunes unexpectedly melts, re-emerging as a spectral nodder that brings to mind a dubstep treatment of Joy Division's 'The Eternal'." -Adam Burrows, Venue Magazine
